Its predecessor gained recognition when members of the American Navy’s Deep Freeze 1 Task Force relied on it during their daring South Pole expeditions (1955-56), proving its rugged reliability in extreme conditions. Today’s Super Antarctic stays true to its heritage, preserving the elegant 1950s design while incorporating modern refinements. As a tribute to its history, every Super Antarctic proudly features the 1957 International Geophysical Year Medallion engraved on the case back—just like the originals.
